I will present my work to the students at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, formerly the Riga Conservatory, to the composition department, sharing how impactful musical moments throughout my career, such as hearing minimalism for the first time, have profoundly shaped me, leaving an indelible mark. I will discuss how experiences like these can serve as an invaluable resource for students, but also for composers at any stage of their development and career. I remember being a student, and whenever a working composer came to present, those were always the most inspiring seminars!
