Intermezzo #2 Solitude (Minor, Fl & Pno)
Setting: Flute and piano
Year of composition: 2019
Premiered: Not performed.
This is the second piece in the Intermezzo series. The original is composed for piano, but I also made this version for flute and piano. The original piece was composed during a very late night, november 8, 2019 in Cortona, Italy. This was my arrival night in Cortona for a two week stay in FST’s (Society of Swedish Composers) apartment. A strange and intense feeling of solitude came upon me. Hence the title of this piece. This version for flute and piano was written a couple of months after the piano version. It just came to me that it could suit with a flute version. Funny enough soon after that my friend, flutist Yuri Hashimoto, heard the piano version and asked me if this piece could be played on a flute. I told her I already thought of that same idea. So I went ahead and created this version for flute and piano.
