Composer’s note
Overwhelmed by an unexpected and intense feeling of solitude, I sat down to compose the second piece in the Intermezzo series for piano. It was a very late night on November 8, 2019, and I had just arrived in Cortona, Italy for a two-week stay in the FST’s (Society of Swedish Composers) apartment. As I worked through the emotions that had overtaken me, the piece took shape and ultimately received the title that reflected my state of mind at the time.
