Composer’s note
This is the major version of the second piece in the Intermezzo series for piano. I love trying out both a major and a minor version for each piece I write in this style of music. The original (minor version) was composed during a very late night, November 8, 2019 in Cortona, Italy. This was my arrival night in Cortona for a two week stay in FST’s (Society of Swedish Composers) apartment. An unexpected and intense feeling of solitude came upon me. Hence the title of the piece. For this new version, the major version, I created it the day before we were about to record it in Linköping, Sweden, and only two days before the concert premiere at the same location!
